The Coney Island Mermaid Parade is an annual summer tradition here in New York, and one I’ve managed to miss for the past five years. I decided that this year was the year that I wasn’t gonna miss out, and I’m glad I didn’t. There were scantily clad mermaids and sea creatures as far as the eye could see, incognito fruit punch cocktails in styrofoam cups, and music, music, music. It was sweltering hot out, and even though I went dressed as a beachgoing photographer, I was probably wearing more clothes than anyone else. Take a look at some of the shots I got below.
