CMJ 30 | New York City Concert Photography

I’m excited to announce the opening of my first NYC exhibition! It’s a group show focusing on 30 years’ worth of imagery from the CMJ Music Marathon, which I shoot every year as an official photographer for CMJ. As the opening is happening smack in the middle of the fest, I’ll be taking that evening off to attend. Hope to see all you locals there. More info below.

30th Anniversary Showcase of Past and Present CMJ Music Marathon Photography

New York, NY (October 2010) – P.J.S. Exhibitions, an emerging and eclectic W. Village grassroots gallery (238 W. 14th between 7th & 8th Ave.) along with non-traditional art and culture publication, Paper Spaceship, present CMJ 30, a collection of CMJ Music Marathon photography dating back to 1981.

The exhibit, running October 19th through October 31st, 2010 will kick off with a huge opening reception Thursday, Oct. 21st from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Featuring both old and rotating current photography from CMJ Music Marathon, New York City’s largest music festival, the show will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the CMJ Music Marathon and showcase work from photographers Bao Nguyen, Chris Becker, Daniel Arnold, Deanna Wallach, Dese’Rae L. Stage, Diana Wong, Elizabeth Steiner, Emily Tan, Faith-Ann Young, Francis Chung, Hilary J Corts, Ifran Khalil, Jack Jeffries, Jackie Roman, Oliver Lopena, Paul Guzzo, Rachel Leah Woliansky, Rebecca Smeyne, Ryan Muir, and Santiago Felipe.

Bringing in over 120,000 fans, artists, filmmakers and music business professionals in a nonstop five-day period, CMJ Music Marathon will host over 1,200 live band performances and dozens of cutting edge films in more than 75 of NYC’s greatest nightclubs and theaters. The festival dominates the downtown area of New York City with exclusive parties, daytime exhibits, film premieres, seminars, and special events.

Paper Spaceship is a non-traditional publication, uniquely packaged and selectively distributed to the discerning youth demographic at concerts, galleries, bars, music shops, fashion boutiques and universities. Their mission is to utilize brand sponsorships to promote art, music and lifestyle that can be physically embraced and enjoyed by the discerning youth audience.
